Growing Minds: Early Education Programs
Description of Services:
Growing Minds operates five child development centers in four communities of North San Diego County. Our child development program prepares 2-5-year-old children from over 400 low to middle-income families for entry into the formal education system. Using a child-centered, play-based curriculum, children enrolled in our programs strengthen skills that will help them succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

- 8 Students to 1 Teacher Ratio

- Educational Program Component
The educational program shall include activities that meet the cultural and individual developmental needs of every child. Curriculum and assessments are developed using the California Preschool Learning Foundations. The Preschool Learning Foundations outline key knowledge and skills that most children can achieve when provided with the kinds of interactions, instruction, and environments shown by research to promote learning and development. The educational activities shall help each child develop:
- A Positive Self Image
- Socialization Skills
- Physical Growth and Development
- Problem-Solving Skills, Nature, Math, and Science
- Literacy, Language, and Communication Skills
- Enrichment activities such as Music, the Arts, and Visual and Performing Arts
