Description of Services:

Bridges to Success (B2S) engages young men in a supportive brotherhood that builds professional and personal skills, elevating them as they transition out of foster care and into independence and adulthood. Through foundational workshops and a network of male leaders and like-minded peers, these young men gain the knowledge, skills, resources, and connections they need to achieve long-term personal and professional sufficiency and success.

With help from a dedicated community of volunteer Champions (adult male mentors), B2S helps young men understand and utilize the necessary tools to achieve financial security; establish greater self-awareness, internal resiliency, and empowerment; develop and leverage lasting, supportive relationships; and have the satisfaction of becoming leaders to give back to others. Workshops focus on subjects such as identity, masculinity, personal branding, confidence, networking, and money management.

Through this “band of brothers,” new relationships are formed that allow for trust and respect to build. B2S volunteer Champions guide foster youth in an informal, non-judgmental setting, offering tools and resources while instilling a sense of community, purpose, and self-worth.

Requirements:
Youth must have completed the JIT new participant orientation and be between the ages of 18 and 26.

It can be a struggle finding reliable transportation to get to work or to school. That’s why we offer behind the wheel training, help obtaining permits and licenses, and resources on how to find reliable vehicles at affordable rates.  We help remove any obstacles so you have more options and opportunities to thrive.

Changing Lanes provides youth with the resources and connections needed to obtain their driver’s permits and licenses. For permits, this includes volunteer time to help study and provide transportation to the DMV to take written tests. For those seeking their license, we pay for six hours of behind-the-wheel practice and support for the DMV road test. Plus, since we partner with Allstate Driving School, vehicles are provided to use for the road test – no need to have access to one! Changing Lanes is offered to youth at their own pace.

Requirements:
Changing Lanes is open to all JIT participants. You simply need to complete your new youth orientation in order to apply.
