Description of Services:
The mission of New Alternatives- Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP+) is to assist and empower former foster and probation youth as they transition into adulthood by providing safe and affordable housing and comprehensive, individualized support services. As a participant-driven program, THP+ supports youth in fostering their unique talents. THP+ affords participants the greatest amount of freedom while actively working toward personal goals.
THP+ is a division of New Alternatives, Inc. (NAI). NAI is a private, nonprofit California corporation that was founded in San Diego, California in 1978. The mission of New Alternatives is to provide culturally-competent and family-focused services to child victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
Our goal is to support participants in making progress towards his or her life goals, including educational attainment, financial management, physical and mental well-being and/or employment achievement. Our mission is to support participants as they take on increasing adult responsibility in order to exit the program with safe housing, community resources, knowledge, experience, interpersonal and problem solving skills, and the financial well-being necessary to thrive in the adult world.
