Description of Services: 

The Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) Animal Safehouse Program is a safety net for community members in crisis. By offering temporary pet boarding to the victims of domestic violence and to military veterans and seniors requiring hospitalization, RCHS keeps families together.

For a victim of domestic violence, finding a safe place for their pet can often mean the difference between staying in an abusive environment or leaving. With temporary shelter and vet care for their pet, these victims become survivors who ultimately reunite with their animals as they pursue a new life of safety and security.

Additional Information: 

For military veterans in need of medical care, our Animal Safehouse Program is also about keeping families intact and respecting the human-animal bond. By having RCHS watch over a pet(s), veterans are able to seek the medical attention they need without having to consider giving up their pets in the process.
